Although I primarily focus on writing and editing these days, I used to be a busy performer (and might be again one day... who knows?). Throughout the 2000s, I hosted myriad burlesque and variety shows, including Starshine Burlesque, Red Hots Burlesque, Le Scandal and the Stonewall Inn's faux-queen party Victoria; co-created the all-Jewish revue Kosher ChiXXX with Minnie Tonka; and founded the all-moms Hot Mama Burlesque.
Other performing highlights include acting in the original reading of Urinetown, guest-starring as a vampire on the short-lived ABC sitcom Talk to Me, appearing as a "female female impersonator" on "The Maury Povich Show" and in the documentary The Faux Reel, playing a dominatrix-like self-help guru in the award-winning short film Slo-Mo, telling tales on the main stage of The Moth and at Heeb Storytelling, and my autobiographical one-woman show How I Became a Drag Queen Trapped in a Woman's Body.
